As part of activities leading to sustained transformation and reintegration processes of At – Risk Women in the country, a Non – For – Profit Organization, named Zogos WeCare, in collaboration with the Metro Harvest Liberia recently held an excursion visit to the SHED Farm and Poultry in Mount Barclay, Montserrado County. The daylong excursion, which aimed at exploring other aspects of the society and getting a first-hand information on the processes leading to the production, storage, distribution and sales of eggs on the Liberian market was intended to explore the egg industry in the country.

In attendance on the excursion visit were beneficiaries (trainees) and staff of the Sheela Logan StarGurlz Empowerment Center. Members of the team picked off from the program’s center on Front and Buchanan Streets in Monrovia and travelled to the Serving Humanity for Empowerment and Development (SHED) Farm in Lower Montserrado.
According to Mulbah S. Flomo, Head of Programs and Media Relations, a little over twenty individuals formed part of the visitation. According to him, while on the excursion, the team visited and toured the facilities of the farm and had meaningful interactions with the management and team of the farm, headed by Wolewu Yarkpazuo. He further narrated that, during the interactions, the StarGurlz were fully informed about processes leading to the production, storage and distribution of eggs on the farm.
After hours of interactions on the Farm, the team of StraGurlz headed to the State – run University, the University of Liberia (UL) Fendall Campus. While at the Fendall Campus of the UL, the Shella Logan StarGurlz and Staff had lecture series on pressing issues of their daily lives, ranging from time management to talents and treasury managements. At the same time, the team was drilled through several games and recreational activities to climax the day.
For her part, the President of the women and girls, Madam Veronica T. Lincoln thanked Zogos WeCare for the establishment of the StarGurlz program and the thoughtfulness in contributing meaningfully to the positive transformation of the already broken society by engaging them [women and girls].
The program is one of eight series yet to be executed for the transformation of At – Risk Youths in the country as the organization sources funding to implement the programs. Zogos WeCare is the NGO (humanitarian) arm of Metro Harvest – the Church Without Walls that works with At-Risk youth and children in the slums and ghettos across the country and is involved with Rehabilitation, life skill training and reintegration. The organization work towards supporting the policies of the Government of Liberia and other partners and institutions in transforming and affecting the lives of the At – Risk – Youths in the Country by striving to achieving the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the ARREST Policy of the Government of Liberia.
